There is always movement and water
The basics of life
Timeless and eternal
Never ceasing

As I have said many times, painting water is a challenge. In a seascape, there is constant change. Change of form, change of light, change of colors, all happening in a moment, the next one different. But as an artist you must capture the ongoing flux and impart a sense of continuity. This is hard.

As I painted I was aware of the vast expanse of water before me, in the lake and in the clouds streaming above, and the constant movement of all.

Water and movement… A fitting correlation for creating a watercolor painting.
